FAQ
Short answers to the questions people ask most about Srishti, with links to the full explanation.
- Everyone
Each answer is short on purpose. Follow the link for the details, or see Troubleshooting when something is not working.
Access and sign-in
How do I sign in?
Choose Sign in with Google and use your Kapiva Google account. There are no Srishti passwords. You land on My Activities. See Sign in and find your way.
Why can't I see a page a colleague has?
What each person can open is set one by one, in their page access, not by a job title. An admin sets it in User Management. See Page access.
Why can't I open the page of a project I work on?
Being assigned to an activity gives you the project's card on My Activities, with your activities, its documents and its conversations, but not its project page. The project page needs Projects page access; View is enough. See My Activities.
Projects and plans
Who is a project's PM, and can that change?
The PM is the person who created the project. Nothing in Srishti changes a project's PM today. See Projects and project health.
Why did my new project go for approval?
Its calculated schedule is longer than its template's Project duration (CPM). A project within its template is created straight away. See Approvals.
Can I change the plan once the project is running?
Yes. The PM edits activities directly: duration, owner, predecessors, mark as done, delete or add. That moves the current dates but not the baseline. To change the baseline itself, use Actions → Create new baseline, which goes to an approver. See Baselines and re-baselines.
Does editing a template change my project?
No. A project copies its template once, when it is picked. Later edits reach only projects created afterwards. See Activity templates.
Can I reopen a closed project?
No. Closing cannot be undone. A closed project stays viewable, but nothing in it can be edited, completed or uploaded. See Close a project.
Tasks, documents and approvals
Why is Mark task complete greyed out?
Something mandatory is not done: an item to tick, a field to fill or a document to upload. Save progress keeps a half-done task. See Complete your tasks.
Why can't I see a document someone uploaded?
Beyond the uploader's team, a document opens only after its trigger (on upload, check or approval), and only for its Visible to teams if they are assigned in the project, or for people the PM granted access. See Who sees a document.
Who can see older versions of a document?
Only the project's PM, with Versions on the Documents tab. Everyone else sees the current version. See Versions.
Can I approve a re-baseline I submitted?
No. Another of the project's baseline approvers must decide it. See Who can approve.
Are approvers reminded about approvals they have not decided?
For activity approvals, yes: after 24 hours the approver's escalation level 1 is told, once a day, up to three times. New-project and re-baseline approvals get no automatic reminder. See When an approval waits too long.
Notifications and people
Which notifications come by email?
Approvals waiting on you, re-baselines to approve, due-today and four-days-overdue escalations, and tags in conversations. Most others go to Slack, and some stay in the app. See What you are told about.
Who hears when my activity is late?
You get Due in 2 days. On the due date your escalation level 1 is told; four days later your level 2 (or your L1's own L1). See Reminders and escalations.
What happens to someone's work when they leave?
When an admin removes them, their unfinished activities are not reassigned automatically. They appear under Needs reassignment on each project's Overview, and the PM picks a new owner. See Removing a person.
Why can't I edit a template I can open?
Only the person who created a template can edit it, and only with Templates: Action. Use Duplicate to make your own copy. See Who can create, edit and publish.
